Proverbs
My son, do not despise the chastening of the LORD, Nor detest His correction; For whom the LORD loves He corrects, Just as a father the son in whom he delights.

Proverbs 3:11-12

The Word
“Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it."

Psalm 148

There are times when you just want to throw your hands in the air and praise God – it is a feeling that starts somewhere in your feet and surges through your whole body until it erupts in a shout of joy. This psalm does this for me.
When we look around at the mess of the world we are surrounded by, we can look past man and into the Lord’s creation – the natural creation of the Lord and see His glory around us. Everything is a testimony of His glory.  Psalm 19:1 tells it like this:

1 The heavens declare the glory of God;
And the firmament shows His handiwork.

So if you feel like throwing your hands up in adoration in joy in worship in adoration, go right ahead…. There is nothing quite so exhilarating and joyous than worshipping the Lord in utter abandonment.

Psalm 148

Praise to the LORD from Creation

1 Praise the LORD!

Praise the LORD from the heavens;
Praise Him in the heights!
2 Praise Him, all His angels;
Praise Him, all His hosts!
3 Praise Him, sun and moon;
Praise Him, all you stars of light!
4 Praise Him, you heavens of heavens,
And you waters above the heavens!

5 Let them praise the name of the LORD,
For He commanded and they were created.
6 He also established them forever and ever;
He made a decree which shall not pass away.

7 Praise the LORD from the earth,
You great sea creatures and all the depths;
8 Fire and hail, snow and clouds;
Stormy wind, fulfilling His word;
9 Mountains and all hills;
Fruitful trees and all cedars;
10 Beasts and all cattle;
Creeping things and flying fowl;
11 Kings of the earth and all peoples;
Princes and all judges of the earth;
12 Both young men and maidens;
Old men and children.

13 Let them praise the name of the LORD,
For His name alone is exalted;
His glory is above the earth and heaven.
14 And He has exalted the horn of His people,
The praise of all His saints—
Of the children of Israel,
A people near to Him.

Praise the LORD!

    Hi Jessie,

    I know that I had never heard of the Sons of Korah until you introduced them to me, but I have to say I think they are wonderful. In fact I would say they are simply the best I’ve heard faithfully reproduce the Psalms in a contemporary style of music.

    Praise the Lord indeed!

    God bless,

    John.
