The Word In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.
Upon reading an excellent article recently, I was reminded of how there are many times that verses of Scripture are ripped out of context to back up wrong teaching within the church. This was especially hammered home to me when I heard the familiar phrase “where there is no vision the people perish” quoted from Proverbs 29:18, for this had been an old favourite of the pastor of a church I used to belong to, and according to a message put online on 20th June 2010, remains to be so.
Fear "We fear men so much, because we fear God so little. One fear cures another. When man's terror scares you, turn your thoughts to the wrath of God."
