Proverbs My son, do not despise the chastening of the LORD,
Nor detest His correction;
For whom the LORD loves He corrects,
Just as a father the son in whom he delights.
The Word For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
But I fear, lest somehow, as the serpent deceived Eve by his craftiness, so your minds may be corrupted from the simplicity[a] that is in Christ.
2 Cor 11:3 NKJV
I ask you to pay special attention to this point. Such is the simplicity[b] and innocence of many in the church today, that they actually expect false doctrine to look false, and will not understand that, as a rule, the very essence of its ability to do harm is its resemblance to God’s truth.
“Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves.”
Matthew 7:15 NKJV
Definitions added for clarity:-
[a] sincerity.
[b] lack of mental acuteness or shrewdness; naivete.

Oh how true this is, even more so now than in the days he lived. It is being able, with the full help of discernment from the Lord, to see the near-truth from the Truth.
I have often wondered how men of this type of ministry would react to the world we now find ourselves in. How I long for ministry like that, now, in the world.
Hope "Hope fills the afflicted soul with such inward joy and consolation, that it can laugh while tears are in the eye, sigh and sing all in a breath; it is called "the rejoicing of hope" (Hebrews 3:6)."
