Lane Chaplin – 10 Signs You May Have Just Entered… The Emergent Church Zone
This is what he has to say about it: Have you ever heard an emergent post-modern speak and thought something was just off? Do you get tired of people telling you there is no absolute truth without realizing that their statement would have to be absolutely true? If you walk into a church that’s saying things like this, you may have just crossed into… the emergent zone.
The Bible actually spoke about the emergent post-modern church at great length. Just look up these terms: “hypocrisy” and “hypocrite”. You’ll find plenty of verses addressing the subject matter these people are putting forth.

Roger Oakland has a video on the Emerging Church.
The Emergent Church is a seeker friendly Christian movement touted to be the “New” Christianity for the Post-Modern World. But is the Emergent Church really a fresh approach to teaching sound doctrine, or is it part of the great end times apostasy predicted in the Bible?
In this commentary, Roger Oakland explores the apostate pattern emerging from the Emergent Church.

I spent over 30 years in churches that espoused this view that their particular doctrine was based on God’s Word and everyone else was in error. I am so glad to be free of that limiting frame of reference. If Paul thought that his view of spiritual matters was as through a “cloudy glass” why do modern Biblical literalists feel that they alone have the correct interpretation of God’s voice?
Even if the scriptures were perfectly recorded directly from the mind of God they would be altered as soon as they passed through our own minds. The only way I’ve found to navigate these realms with integrity is by paying attention to the still small voice within my heart. My best advice to all of us is, “Be STILL and know that I am the Lord.
God is perfectly able to use sinful man to carry out His will, regardless of our faults, and to carry it out perfectly. It’s not a question of Paul or any of the other Biblical writers being infallible, but God infallibly speaking His Word through whatever medium He wishes to.
I’m sorry my friend, but this statement borders on the ridiculous! On one hand you reject the tangible, written Word of God as untrustworthy, even though God declares it to be utterly trustworthy. And yet on the other, you have a small voice within that is to be trusted above all else?
Do you believe in Christ as your Saviour or not? If you do, how can you reject what His own Word says about Him?
God bless,
John.
