After once again seeing professing Christians coming to the defence of this course, even when being shown clearly that the course is in error, I thought it fitting to make mention of it through our website too.
Rather than spending ages putting together a whole list of reasons why the alpha course is in error compared to Scripture, I will instead give a link to a short article written by a man named Dusty Peterson. Although he has co-authored a book that goes much more into depth, in this article there are more than enough points of conflict with the Bible to warrent throwing the course out of the nearest window!
Also, before anyone decides to leave comment after comment concerning the godliness of people such as Nicky Gumbel, please don’t for it will not be published. I have no intention of making some erroneous ad hominem attack on Nicky Gumbel, or Holy Trinity Brompton church, or anyone else related to the alpha course for that matter. My gripe is purely with the course itself, and the way it fails to convey the full gospel message to those who attend it.
